Vaping laws a public health victory, now it’s time to ban cigarettes

New Laws that took effect at the start of this month marked a milestone in the public health campaign to combat the spread of vaping in our community. From March 1 all vaping products including liquids with or without nicotine, and hardware will be banned from importation. This will leave vapers who want to use their devices with nicotine, the option of obtaining a prescription from their GP, then buying nicotine vaping liquids from a pharmacy.

80,000 West Australians are waiting to see a public hospital specialist

The West Australia has reported that, "Almost 80,000 West Australians are waiting to see a public hospital specialist to find out if they need surgery, with an average waiting time of more than a year at Fiona Stanley Hospital." In fact, the waiting to wait patients who need to be assessed for surgery show that at the end of December last year, 79,517 patients were were waiting for their first appointment.
