Can I claim a pharmacy benefit from HIF?

Whilst this item is generally compounded by a pharmacy, it is classed as an over the counter (OTC) drug and therefore a benefit cannot be paid by HIF on any level of Extras cover. A benefit can only be paid on non-Government Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) prescription items where the class is either Schedule 4 (S4), Schedule 7 (S7), Schedule 8 (S8) or a Medical prescription (RX) and exceeds the PBS amount.
