Can I claim for a breast reduction?

If your Doctor or Specialist deems your breast reduction as "medically necessary" then a benefit from HIF may be payable; However, if it's classified as "cosmetic surgery", a benefit from HIF will not be payable. 

To confirm if a benefit is applicable, please ensure that you meet the requirements outlined below and also complete our Medical Estimate Form so a member of our team can check your eligibility. 

• Hold Bronze, Bronze Plus, Silver, No Maternity Hospital with Mid Extrs Combo, Gold, GoldStar hospital cover 
• Medicare deem your surgery to be medically necessary and;
• You will be treated as an inpatient; 

Please note: A twelve month waiting period will also apply.
