HIF Dog ‘n’ Health Games set to put the fun into fundraising
Fantastic fun with furry, four-legged friends is set to take place later this month as not-for-profit health insurer HIF takes the lead in a fitness fundraising for the Dogs’ Refuge Home in Shenton Park.
The HIF Dog ‘n’ Health Games invites dogs and their owners to participate in an obstacle course, which includes a 1km walk or run along the Swan River and 20 fitness-challenge stations, focusing on cardio, strength and agility.
The fundraiser will take place on Sunday 30 April in the form of a family-friendly day, which includes a fun zone for children, and which is set to see all proceeds being donated to animal welfare charity, the Dogs’ Refuge Home.
Karen Rhodes, President of the Dogs’ Refuge Home, says it will be the second year the HIF Dog ‘n’ Health Games has been organised, with this year’s event set to be bigger and better than last year.
“This is going to be such a fun event for all members of the family, including the four-legged variety and we’re encouraging all dog lovers who have previously adopted one of our refuge dogs to register and support us in this fun event,” she says.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for animal lovers across Perth to exercise with their canine companion for a great cause and we’re thrilled that our great supporters at HIF are again supporting this fun fundraiser for the second year running.”
The event will be held at Sir James Mitchell Park on Sunday 30 April, with registrations open from 9:00am and each fitness challenge commencing at half hourly intervals from 9:30am, with a celebrity challenge at 11:30am.
