Are you paying unnecessary Lifetime Health Cover loading?

Under the Federal Government’s Lifetime Health Cover (LHC) loading legislation, Australians who join hospital cover later in life will pay an additional 2% LHC loading on top of their Hospital premium for each year they were over 30 years old and did not have Hospital cover.

If you held Hospital cover with a previous fund or an exception listed on the private health government website applies to you, then you will need to provide specific documents to confirm your LHC status. Without valid documents confirming your LHC status, we’re obligated to apply full loading to your membership. So, it really does pay to check if your LHC details are correct!

Have you claimed for a reduced premium?

The Australian Government Rebate (AGR) on Private Health Insurance was introduced to help Australians meet their health cover costs.
If you currently hold a Medicare card, then you can claim your rebate entitlement as either a reduction in your private health insurance premiums, or as a tax refund at the end of the financial year.

Does your employer or association have an arrangement with HIF?

Members on an existing corporate health plan can apply for payroll deductions using Payroll Super Deduction form, or a corporate direct debit discount using the Corporate Direct Debit Discount form.

If you're a member of an association such as the Australian Nursing Federation (ANF) or the Australian Dental Association (ADA), you can use our Association Direct Debit Discount Request form to apply for the association member direct debit discount.
