Meet Taryn, our new Communications Manager who started her HIF journey in January 2018. Taryn will be our Member communications guardian ensuring we're consistently meeting our Members needs and expectations. Taryn has an exciting role ahead and we can't wait for her to make her mark! In this article, you can read all about what attracted Taryn to HIF and her career history to date.
When asked what attracted her to HIF, Taryn said that for her, it was all about working for a great brand and industry (well, we like to think so too). As soon as she saw our advert and our website, she said she felt engaged and really wanted to be a part of our team.
Luckily for us, Taryn has worked for Member based organisations before, as well as not for profits. Just recently, she completed a number of large customer journey projects for renowned educational institutions, so we think she's the perfect fit for this role.
Taryn described the interview process as extensive, quickly understanding that HIF were really after the ‘right’ person for the job and is grateful that person is her. One thing that stood out for Taryn was how quickly the offer arrived making her feel like she had definitely made the right decision, (we're just happy we snapped you up before anyone else did). Plus, going for lunch with her team before she arrived made her first day much easier!
Since joining HIF, Taryn has described her first week as very welcoming, highlighting the fact that she loves to see our Executive Managers walk around the floors of our office saying hello to everyone. Plus, the unique personal induction she received from our Learning and Development team has helped her out a lot! Taryn told us she couldn't be happier with the decision she made to join HIF and to say it's a nice environment would be an understatement.
Outside of work Taryn enjoys spending her time with the love of her life – Myra, a Pug x Boston Terrier otherwise known as a Bug and her partner, Joel. She also teaches ballroom dancing and likes to help friends and family when planning special events with her graphic design skills!
Taryn is looking forward to exploring her new role and making some positive changes to HIF.
