Binar Futures

Binar began in 2011 as one local basketball team of six indigenous youths supported by founder Adam Desmond. Over the past 13 years, Binar has grown to over 2,100 young people (85% Aboriginal) involved in the Perth Metro area and surrounds, now being recognised as a basketball association.

HIF’s partnership with Binar reflects our commitment to supporting causes that are important to members and align with our own values. This partnership has led to HIF funding support for homework classes.

This partnership helps promote an active and healthy lifestyle for young people and helping to create a more inclusive and culturally aware workplace that understands, values, and respects the histories and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
