Can I claim for the Federal Government Rebate as a visitor from a reciprocal country?

The answer is, yes! Provided you are an Overseas visitor, from a country with a Reciprocal Health Care Agreement with Australia and hold a complying Extras Cover product, you're certainly entitled to receive the Federal Government Rebate. In short, anyone who is eligible for Medicare and has a complying health insurance product is eligible for the rebate, subject to their income threshold.

To work out the rebate you are eligible to claim from 1 April 2019 - 31 March 2020, please refer to the table below:
